Britwell Wellbeing Hub
Britwell Centre.
Wentworth Avenue,
Slough,
SL2 2DT
OPEN
Thursday 10 am to 12 pm

What the Hub is for
- The Hub started in 2024 as a safe, friendly place for local people to meet, talk, get help, and join in activities.
- It means that the library is more than just a place to borrow books.
The Centre has a library, computers and free Wi‑Fi, a café (Amana’s Journey), a garden, rooms for meetings, and chances to learn and help as a volunteer.

What happens when we are open
- Crafts: crochet, knitting, sewing and other simple makes. You can chat while you create.
- Time to talk: a calm space to share worries and make friends.
- Information: friendly help to find other services for health, learning and more.
- Reading groups or story time for younger ages, depending on who comes.
- These sessions are free and open to all ages, especially people who feel lonely or find it hard to get out and about.
The Britwell Placement Programme (helpers in training)
- Helpers may plan or run gentle movement sessions, like seated stretches, easy exercise, walking groups, or simple games.
- They set a good example and make being active feel fun and doable for everyone.
- They also talk to local people about what activities they want. They use short surveys and small group chats to learn how to make being active easier in Britwell.

How this can help over time
- Better health and mood: more moving, better mobility, less loneliness, happier feelings.
- Stronger community: people meet often, make friends, and feel proud of their area.
- More activity: it’s local, friendly and free, so more people will join in and sit less.
- Run by the community: as helpers gain skills, more groups can be led by local people, like walking groups or gentle exercise sessions.
- We will check what works: count how many people come, ask for feedback, and see if confidence and health improve. This helps us improve the Hub.
- Big picture: the Britwell Centre becomes known not just for books and crafts, but also for health, activity and support for everyone.
